Coaching Vs. Counseling
Here are a few differences between what I provide as a trained grief and loss coach, and what you happens when you get counseling:

Counseling is psychological; Coaching is behavioral. Counseling is therapy; Coaching is education. Counseling is cure-oriented; Coaching is success oriented. Counseling is exploring the past; Coaching is future focused. Counseling is about healing old hurts; Coaching is achieving goals and moving toward the future. Counseling is resolving issues; Coaching is forward momentum. Counseling is practicing time tested theories; Coaching is developing a personalized plan. Counseling deals with personal, emotional problems; Coaching deals with a person who wants better results Coaching asks powerful questions, enhances self-awareness and focuses on thriving and reaching new goals. In general, a professionally trained Life Coach is more collaborative. Someone who partners with you, asks thought-provoking questions, helps you through a creative process that inspires you to reach your maximum personal and professional potential, helps you find solutions and formulate strategies, creating outcomes and managing personal change. When you enter a coaching relationship with me, it is about being empowered, motivated, and inspired to move forward into your future. While you understand your past experiences have contributed to your present, you and I will not focus on your past or the obstacles or problems but help you move you into the future. Working together we will set you on a path of self-initiated change and attaining the goals you desire for your unique future. The emphasis in a coaching relationship is on action, accountability, and follow through.  Note: While you can choose to overlap counseling and or therapy with the services of a professional life coach, your coach should never provide counseling or therapy unless they are licensed and professionally trained to do so.
